“What are you doing to me?”
She wanted to see that chest. She wanted it bare. Would it be rough with masculine hair, tickling her fingertips? Would it be smooth to the touch, with only a light dusting to impede exploring fingers?
She wanted to find out.
“I am helping you.”
“Are you preparing me?” It was getting warm.
“In a way, yes.”
“Is that why I suddenly want to tear my clothes off and jump on top of you?”
A deep chuckled rumbled from his chest, running through her. His dimple was deeper than she first thought, begging for her attention.
“Yes.” He touched her shoulders and ran his hands down her back. “I am opening myself to you, letting you feel my love for you.”
“But it’s so hot.”
“It is that way in the beginning.” He moved his hands under her shirt and caressed the sensitive skin of her lower back. “The heat of passion overrides all.”
“But you sound so calm.”
“It is with great effort that I remain calm, my love.” He growled, his caresses growing hotter.
“Why do you call me your love?”
“Because you are my love.” He pulled her shirt over her head and fiddled with her bra straps. “You are The One.”
“Ummm.” Evie enjoyed his caress.
He suddenly stopped. “What is this?”
“What?”
“This.” He pulled the bra strap from her shoulder and shook it, showing his frustration. “This contraption that keeps you from me.”
“It’s a bra.”
“A what?”
“A bra.” Evie decided it might be fun to watch the Prince catch up on the changes wrought in ladies undergarments in the last five hundred years. “It keeps the girls sittin’ high and tight,” she sassed.
“I will not begin to pretend I understand your meaning. If you wish to retain it for future use, then please, remove it.” The smoldering in his eyes was any indication of his passion, she better do what he said.
“Left to me, it would be destroyed,” he grumbled. I wish to feel your flesh against mine.”
Evie complied, but took her time, for the first time in her life she felt seductive. Running her hands over the tops of her breasts, she gently caressed the soft flesh before reaching behind her back to unhook the fasteners. He watched her, the golden green of his eyes darkening to a dark hazel, complimenting the flush coloring his cheeks. He moved as she did, untying his shirt.
Losing tension, the bra relaxed, relying on the shoulder straps and her engorged nipples to remain in place. She brought her hands around and ran them along the sensitive sides of her breasts, shivering in reaction.
He pulled open the sides of his shirt, giving Evie the first sight of his chest. His pectorals rippled as the loosened material trailed down his arms. A light dusting of dark gold hairs covered the wide expanse. Her hands itched to run through the soft down, lingering to massage the heavy muscles that protected his heart.
Instead of reaching for him, she moved her hands to caress the delicate flesh just above the cups of her bra before continuing upwards to the straps. Crossing her arm in front of her, she slowly drew a strap down her arm, briefly flashing one breast as the cup fell away. He hands stilled and his eyes were drawn to the exposed flesh, appreciation intensifying into a look of pure hunger. Encouraged, she dropped her shoulder to free the other from its bindings. The strap fell easily down her arm, catching on her hand on its way to the cold, stone floor.
She had never felt more seductive, more exotic, than she did right now.
Infused with audacity by his appreciation, she dropped her arm and exposed her breasts to his hot gaze. If the way his Adam’s apple bounced in reaction, her bold action was obviously the right thing to do. She took it one step further and raised her arms to pull the tie that loosely held her hair. Shaking the dark strands loose, she gave him what she hoped was a smoldering look. “Now what?”
